I discovered Alakananda when I randomly chanced upon their Youtube video.

I watched some more videos, their website and after a lengthy phone call with their team, I finalised on 2 plots and was about to start payments, when I came across something that made me stop and reconsider the entire decision – concerns around the surrounding area and air quality.

For us, being very particular about air quality, this was not a small issue – it was enough to almost drop the idea altogether.

I raised this concern in detail, expecting a generic or defensive response.

Instead, what I received was a very clear, point-by-point explanation that addressed every question without hesitation.

That level of clarity made a big difference. It didn’t feel like I was being convinced – it felt like I was being informed properly.

From that point on, the decision became straightforward, and I went ahead and completed the entire process – including registration – remotely without visiting the site myself.

What stood out to me was the intent behind the project – the respect for the environment, the waterfront, and the organic farming.

It doesn’t feel like something built just to sell; there is a larger thought behind it.

I decided to go ahead with two plots. The idea is to build a home over time and use the additional space meaningfully, rather than treat it as just another investment.

I currently live in Canada, where many people plan their retirement around places like Florida.

For me, the thought was different – I would rather spend that time back in India, in a place that offers space, calm, and a better connection to nature.

I also see this as something I can pass on to the next generation, not just as an investment but as a place with long-term value.

If someone is evaluating this like any other real estate option, they may miss the point.

This works better for those looking at it from a longer-term, lifestyle perspective.
